Homeowners regularly debate the use of natural materials in their home renovation and building projects. They debate the use natural stone vs. human-made materials, wood vs composite or plastic materials and on goes the list. Although I believe there is an important place for human-made materials, the use of natural materials is critical to keep us connected to nature and to nurture our respect for the natural environment. We crave that connection and we encourage our clients to foster that connection in their home and with their families. The patina of time on natural materials tells story about our lives and creates a connection to history.
